Ladies striped sweater and his and her’s casual car coat.
These are very versatile patterns indeed. Suitable for novice knitters too.
The sweater is knit in seperate pieces and then joined. The casual car coat can double up as a jacket or sloppy joe cardigan. The yarn used in the pattern has a slubby, homespun appearance, but is no longer available. A bulky/12 ply yarn would suit this pattern perfectly. It will give you the correct tension to knit as the pattern suggests.
You will need needles in size 5.5 – 8 mm or US sizes 9 -11 to get the correct gauge/tension. Knit your tension square and go up or down a needle size until you are happy you have the recommended gauge for the patterns.
